Aqua Reliquiae

This Charm Necklace is a lucky token, a journey & protective piece of art to be worn.

This piece features a clutter of 25 reclaimed & recycled gemstones from faraway lands & seas. Discover iridescent pearls, striped green malachite, moss agate & a whole sea of greens.

Details:

• Necklace Length: 18 inches. The pendants bring it to about 18.5 inches in length. Clip it securely onto the link to wear it shorter. Leave me a note at the checkout if you’d prefer another length.

• Weight: 26 g.

• 25 recycled gemstones: mother of pearl, agate, moss agate, turquoise, iridescent shell, tourmaline, aventurine, abalone, pearls, malachite, chrysoprase, turquoise, quartz, aquamarine & peridot.

• I sculpted the Reliquary Hand from jewellers wax & cast into raw brass using the ancient-rooted technique of lost-wax-casting.

• CHOOSE YOUR CHARM: You can select the central amulet.

• The chain & all of the metal details are made from 14ct Filled Gold - a thick layer of gold is pressure bonded onto base metal. Filled gold is a more durable alternative to gold plate or vermeil.

• This design is repeatable. I have enough of these recycled gemstones & castings to make a very small limited edition stash of them. 

• They will vary ever so slightly due to the organic nature of the gemstones. I will match the colour palette & as many stones as possible.

Please allow me up to 2 weeks to make this before I wrap & post it out. It’s just a Roo in the studio.

• Chunky semi-precious stone padlock charms.

• I have reworked these chunky glossy red beads into individual charms by working them onto raw brass wire.

• They’re all a bit different and they’re ready to be looped onto a chain as a chunky pendant - perhaps even attached to your purse or bag?

• Carnelian is understood to symbolise: courage, motivation, creativity, and vital life energy.

The Reliquary Hand.

Reliquaries are essentially containers for holy relics and I discovered a series of ornate reliquaries of arms and hands, which in fact house the bones and remains of sacred peoples’ arms and hands.

My miniature version is empty – don’t worry! It’s an amuletic sculpture to be worn from a chain. My hand was inspired by the ornate reliquary hands made medieval craftspeople. It's jewellery wearing jewellery and that’s a bit boujie.

This lucky chunky Charm Necklace tells tales of histories, mythologies & faraway lands veined with semi-precious stones.

This converted 9ct rolled gold watch chain features 3 hand-carved amulets, 14 reclaimed gemstones & treasures from lands & seas. I've been collecting stones far & wide to make these charm necklaces...

Details:

• Necklace Length: 23 inches. This can be adjusted slightly. Please leave your required length in the gift note section at the checkout. The V of the chain comes to 16 inches.

• Weight: 80g.

• 3 hand-carved brass amulets: A Tall Amphora Amulet, an Ionic Column, a Sun Star.

• 13 reclaimed gems: Baroque pearl, citrine, reticulated quartz, agate, a faux stone scarab, an iridescent shell, pearl, Tibetan turquoise, cowrie shell, abalone, vintage angelskin coral, quartz & other pearls.

• A 9ct rolled gold curb chain necklace featuring a dog-clip, a T-bar & a dangling chain at the front.

• The wires wrapping the stones & jump rings are all made from 14ct filled gold. Rolled & filled gold is a durable alternative to gold plating whereby a layer of gold is pressure bonded onto a base metal.

• The large bolt clasp at the rear is made from raw brass - this is the clasp you should use to take the piece on & off.

Gem Ex Voto Ring.

This special Ex Voto ring is studded with a reclaimed cubic zirconia, which is a synthetic lab-grown stone. I set these into the wax ring sculptures and then it’s cast into place - embedded into the flames atop the heart.

The Ex Voto ring combines the symbolic Ex Voto of the Medieval world, with the early modern Irish tradition of the Claddagh ring. This ring represents love, loyalty and fierce friendship.

• Hand sculpted from wax and cast into raw golden brass, Fairmined gold plated brass, or recycled 925 sterling silver.

• Made to order. Please select your size and allow up to 4 weeks for this to be made.

• Choose from deep red, deep pink or a clear (white) cubic zirconia gem.

• Raw golden brass - you’ll receive polishing goodies to keep this piece shiny!

• Fairmined gold plating can take an additional 3-4 weeks as this is sent to another workshop.
